Overview

Acquisition processes relate to systems like satellites, ships, tanks, air crafts, power plants or whatever system in a technical sense. The development of systems is a process known as systems engineering.

Many specialists and experts from different branches and different skills co-operate in teams to develop, design and build the system.

The term “Project” is used as a synonym to describe the joined efforts of these experts and specialists to bring the system into useful life. A project comprises the hardware and all the “brain ware” in composing ideas, knowledge, experience and material into a system.

Project Management is the task of planning, controlling, and monitoring the whole process of development and manufacturing down to the support of the system.

The seminar gives an overview of how the phased systems engineering process is conducted.

The focus is set on management processes and the required qualification, as well as the ability to organise teams, work flows and tasks.

The aims and targets, the schedules and milestones and the processes of reviews, audits and reports will be discussed. The delegates will learn the flow of decisions, the decision making and the supervision of these processes.

Samples from practical experience are used to illustrate problems, mistakes or advantages.
